Ruth “Lola Lou” Quimzon Linzaga, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family. She was born on September 5, 1936, in Olongapo City, Philippines, to her parents Simforoso and Quirina Quimzon, alongside her siblings Violeta De Guzman, Flor Poblete, Abner Quimzon, Israel Quimzon and Bethzaida Domingo.
Ruth spent her early years in the Philippines and attended Jackson High School, where she built lifelong friendships and memories. On January 7, 1960, she married the love of her life, Isagani “Sonny” Linzaga. Together they built a home centered on love, faith, and dedication to family.
She was a proud and devoted mother to her four children: Loida Linzaga Villavicencio, Ian and daughter-in-law Cheryl Sapida Linzaga, Ivan, and Phoebe. She experienced both the joys and sorrows of motherhood, having lost her children Ivan and Phoebe when they were still young. Despite these hardships, Ruth remained a source of strength and love for her family.
In 1990, Ruth moved to the United States and made her home in Carson, California. She embraced her new life while continuing to share her warmth, generosity, and strong values with those around her.
Ruth was a devoted Christian whose faith guided her life. She was always involved in her church and found great joy in worship, fellowship, and service. Her church community meant a great deal to her, and she was deeply loved by her church family.
She cherished her role as a grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Alyson Villavicencio, Jakob Linzaga, and Sofia Linzaga, who brought immense happiness to her life.
Ruth will be remembered for her kind heart, steadfast faith, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.
