Ronald Gene Bush

     Ronald Gene Bush, a longtime resident of Long Beach, passed away on May 28, 2026 at the age of 74. He was born on February 13, 1952 in Stockton, California to Matthew Bush, Sr. and Minnie Graves Bush.

     After graduating from Long Beach Poly High School in the early seventies, Ron went on to study graphic design at Golden West Coast College. During his life he worked many years with the City of Long Beach and the Port of Long Beach with his last twenty years at the Long Beach Press Telegram/LA Times Distribution.

     Beyond Ron’s work history, he had a passion for classic R&B music and classic western movies. He also enjoyed auto mechanics and coin collecting. Ron will be remembered for his infectious laughter and joy. He always greeted people with a smile and would always encounter someone he knew, no matter the walk of life.

     Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Belinda Bush. He is survived by his wife Debra Bush and his daughters, La Toya Thompson, Precious Bush and Mariah Bush. Ron is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and siblings.
