Penny Bowling Lightfoot

Penny was born in Bakersfield and later married Tim, making their home in Long Beach. If you met Penny, you loved her—her kindness, easygoing nature, and willingness to help were undeniable. She shared unconditional love with Angela and Timmy, always a steadfast presence in their lives, whether watching from the stands or coaching from the sidelines.

Her bond with her sister, Emma Lee, was special; they could spend hours sharing stories about their grandchildren, exchanging medical advice, and whispering secrets they vowed to keep. Their journeys took them to Florida weddings and for margaritas in College Station and Charleston.

To her beloved granddaughter Taylor, she was Mimi, dedicating countless hours to finding joyful activities to share together. Living near her son Tim, she cherished his inventive antics, which often left her smiling and shaking her head in amusement.

Penny was a devoted cancer survivor, facing challenges with grace and resilience, always embodying her faith in God. She spent many years caring for children and talked about them often.

Penny did not want a formal service. Instead, she wished for you to share a comment or story about your time with her. She deeply valued every moment spent with each of you over the years. We love you and miss you!
