Patricia Anne Zimmer

It’s impossible to sum up a life as rich and remarkable as Patricia Zimmer’s in just a few words. But what we can say with certainty is that hers was a life defined by resilience, love, and unwavering devotion to family.

Born during the Great Depression, Patricia learned early how to live simply but fully—finding joy not in things, but in people and purpose. Adopted by her father and lovingly raised by her grandmother, she grew up with a deep understanding of what it means to care for others and be cared for in return. That spirit of nurturing would come to define her entire life.

From her humble beginnings in Columbus, Ohio, Patricia's adventures took her across the country—including a unique chapter traveling with her cousin Mary, whose husband was a player on The Los Angeles Rams football team. In a small-town soda shop, she met the love of her life. And together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, strength, and love.

She was a proud mother to two daughters, and an even prouder grandmother to three granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her role as a grandmother was not just a title—it was her calling. She was the heart and soul of the family, a constant source of wisdom, warmth, and quiet strength.

Patricia had a few essentials she never left the house without: her lipstick, a strong cup of coffee, and a good book—often more than one. These simple comforts spoke volumes about the woman she was: elegant, energized, and always curious.

Independent until the end, Patricia achieved her personal goal of living on her own until her very last day—96 vibrant years young. Her strength, determination, and enduring spirit are a legacy her family will cherish forever.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing she is finally at peace—free from pain, worry, and watching over the family she loved so dearly. Her story doesn’t end here; it lives on in each of us.
