In Loving Memory of the Queen Diva

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Patricia Sargeant-Killion, a figure of grace and enchantment. Carrying a vibrant energy, Linda drew everyone into her orbit, ensuring that no one went unnoticed, and everyone understood that a diva graced the room. Queen Diva, lovingly entitled “Mumzy” by some. She never met a stranger—only friends she had yet to welcome into her circle.

Born on January 25, 1944, in Cumana Village, Toco, Trinidad, Linda moved to England as a young girl to attend school, and lived in St. Croix, Virgin Islands before emigrating to the United States. She earned her nursing degree at Ohio State University and spent 40 years as a registered nurse. As a nurse manager, she was inspiring and fair; she did not feel comfortable unless she was out on the hospital floor, working right beside those who worked under her visage. She was unafraid to challenge those above her to protect the interests of her patients and staff.

Linda’s zest for life was evident in the smallest gestures—without fail, she would inquire with her daughters about what they were planning for dinner that night, sometimes providing pointers based on her own culinary brilliance. This was not only a reflection of food’s prominent role in Trinidadian culture, but also echoed her maternal affection.

Linda traveled the world, lived with fearless authenticity, knew herself completely, and loved deeply. She continues to live among us in the next realm, keeping us attentive and inspired. Even as cancer spread throughout her body, Linda remained a steadfast diva—a lover of purple lipstick and a champion of beauty and style. She chose not to focus on regrets or lost opportunities. Rather, she embraced every day with fullness and joy. Hence, she stated often that she had enjoyed a fulfilling life.

Linda Patricia Sargeant-Killion is survived by her three children: Michelle, Marsha, and Ronald. She leaves behind two grandchildren who, sadly, did not have the opportunity to know and cherish her. Her legacy of love, healing, and fearless living will forever shine in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Right now, she is likely cheering on her favorite cycling team, catching a British TV show, or exploring places around the world that awaited the touch of her effervescent presence—sites that had yet to meet a loving diva of such extraordinary proportions.

We invite you to celebrate Linda’s life on Saturday, March 7, 2026. She asked that everyone wear bright, vibrant colors in her honor.

Linda’s light shines on, living on in every soul she has touched. While her body is resting in peace, her essence remains like a permanent fixture in the sands of time.
