Jerry M Brown, 87, of Long Beach passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2025.
Education and service were both important to Jerry. After a BA at San Jose, Jerry entered OCS for the US Coast Guard. His military service brought him back to Long Beach. A Master's from CSULB and a PhD from USC served him well during his 34 year tenure as a professor of Political Science at Long Beach City College.
Jerry’s passions were travel and his wife, Brenda. He traveled for months at a time including trips around the world with Brenda but also enjoyed quiet moments at home.
As his body grew weaker from ALS, Jerry’s positive attitude continued to inspire us all. He graced us with his intelligence, humor, and wit and he will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his wife, Brenda, son Michael (Holly), their two sons Hayden and Hunter, and son Christopher, two sisters, Alice and Joanne, and many nieces and nephews.
