Jeffrey James Maddalone

     Jeffrey James Maddalone went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2024. He was the first-born son of Fredrick James Maddalone and Elizabeth Herres Maddalone. Born in Illinois, Jeff moved with his family to Redondo Beach in 1956. In his youth, he loved baseball, swimming, going to the beach, and performing in rock bands. As a teen, he worked for his family’s business, Maddalone’s Italian Restaurant. A self-taught freelance artist by trade, he often said, “I don't know how I do this, God comes through my arm and the beauty just appears on the paper.”

     His parents and son Dustin Maddalone predecease Jeff. He is survived by his daughter, Angie Maddalone, granddaughter Lily Lofstrom, sister Carrie Maddalone Kuvakas (George), brothers Dino and Chris Maddalone, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind the love of his life and partner for 16 years, Mary-Jean Veenis, and her family. The memorial is pending.

     “Just as you told me, I will also love you forever, Jeff. Not a day goes by that I do not miss you and think about you. The joy is not there without you, sweetheart. I pray that the heavenly angels watch you and you rest in peace. —  XOXO. Your Mary, as you called me.”
