Ermelinda Licon Hernandez

     Born in Los Angeles, CA, our mom was blessed with 96 years of life. Our mom loved gardening, dancing, socializing and music. Mom had a green thumb. She could grow the most beautiful flowers and they would thrive under her care. Mom also loved to dance. She was a fabulous dancer, it was in her blood. She loved socializing and had a kind heart, was compassionate, and enjoyed helping others. When her neighbor become widowed she would invite her over for breakfast. She also would invite the gardeners in for coffee and pastry. Mom would often sit outside to watch the neighborhood children play in her cul-da-sac and would hand out popsicles in the hot weather. She was also the family memory keeper. She had a great memory and knew all the names of her generation's families, and shared fond stories and the history of our family. Our mom was an amazing woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her children, Dora, Carlos, Diana, Rita and her grandchildren, Brigitte and Matthew, and great-grandchildren, Antonio and Kira, all of whom brought great joy to her.
