Doris Midori Takeuchi

     Doris Midori Takeuchi (Fukushima), age 83, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, in Harbor City, California. Born on May 7, 1942, in Puʻunēnē, Hawaii, Doris lived a life filled with love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.

     Doris graduated from Maui High School and pursued further education at the University of Hawaii. After teaching physical education for one year, she embraced her most cherished role as a stay-at-home wife and mother. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, and she poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing home.

     Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanley Takeuchi, and her son, Derek Takeuchi. She is survived by her daughter Lynn Yung and son-in-law Vincent Yung; granddaughter Alyssa Yung; grandson Makano Takeuchi; daughter-in-law Joanne Connon; and her cherished cat Cassie. Doris’s legacy of love also extends to countless others who were touched by her kindness as a sister, aunt, friend, neighbor, and more.

     Doris had a vibrant spirit that shone through in all she did. She found joy in boating and fishing adventures, sewing and crocheting beautiful creations, and sharing her culinary talents through cooking and baking. Her love for animals was evident in the care she gave to her pets over the years.

     Doris will be remembered as a loving and caring individual whose incredible warmth left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
