Carlos Duran Hernandez

     Carlos Durán Hernández was born in the state of Nayarit, Mexico. His biggest passion was teaching. Before coming to the United States, he taught at the University of Guadalajara. In 1992 he came to Los Angeles to start a Spanish language program for the university. When the program ended, he received a visa to stay and teach in Montebello Unified School District.

     Carlos became a U.S. citizen 2011. In addition to teaching, Carlos loved to read, dance, sing and travel. He will be missed by his partner Jim of 32 years, his family, colleagues and many friends.
