With sad hearts and much love, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend Benjamin Barillaro, who we all knew as Ben, “Dad” and “Pop.” Ben has gone home to the Lord too soon and will be missed by all who knew him. Ben was born to Antoinette (Dagostino) and Benjamin, Sr. Barillaro on April 7, 1952 in Meriden,CT, and passed on December 6, 2025. Ben was brother to Maryellen (Robert) Stefanski, and Richard Barillaro.
Ben was a loving and devoted husband to Lynn, with whom they built a wonderful life together during their 30 years of marriage. Their journey together was marked by an unwavering commitment to each other, especially as they navigated through health challenges with grace, humor, and dignity. They shared their faith within the Catholic Church, and were celebrants at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. in Long Beach. Life together for Ben and Lynn spanned from Connecticut, then to Long Beach, California, where they both retired. Ben retired from a 40-year career where he was respected for his precision and expertise in bearing mechanicals for the automotive and aircraft manufacturing fields.
Ben was loved and cherished by his friends and neighbors in Long Beach, who were just like family to him and Lynn. Ben was always happy to lend a helping hand, or to be there when there was joy or sorrow to share. He will surely be missed by all.
Ben leaves behind his three children Jennifer (Barillaro) Gill and her two children, Kristen (Joseph) Fetta, and her two surviving children, and Michael (Laura) Barillaro, and their five children. Ben was particularly proud to be a part of the lives of his stepchildren Bill Austin, Paula Austin, and her three children, Ben was so proud of having grandkids that called him “Pop” and happiest when he had knowledge or wisdom to share with them.
Gathering to follow at 12:00 with light refreshments at The Clubhouse in their Belmont Shore Community.
