Alejandro Camacho-Marzan, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in Long Beach, California, at the age of 86. Surrounded by family, Alejandro left this world as he lived it—with warmth, compassion, and an enduring love for those around him.
Born on April 21, 1939, in Cataño, Puerto Rico, Alejandro’s life was defined by service, resilience, and love. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for twenty years, with assignments that took him from Korea to Vietnam and from Germany to Guatemala. As a drill sergeant, he shaped the lives of countless soldiers, teaching discipline, respect, and perseverance. His skill in electronics and communications earned him several commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, The Sharpshooter Badge, and the Army Commendation Medal.
Faith was a guiding force throughout Alejandro’s life. His devotion to the Catholic Church brought him deep joy and grounded him through life’s challenges. After retiring from the military, he continued to explore his passion for electronics through home projects—always creating, fixing, and involving his family in the process.
In his later years, Alejandro found peace on the water. Living aboard his boat, he embraced the quiet rhythm of the tides and the freedom that came with life at sea. The marina became his neighborhood, filled with friends who shared his love for the ocean and simple living.
Above all, Alejandro’s greatest pride was his family. He was a loving father to Alejandro Jr., Anna Marie, Darrel Anthony, Rose Agnes, and Delilah Antoinette. His laughter, wisdom, and steady presence shaped the lives of his children and carried on through his five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Alejandro’s kindness, faith, and generosity touched everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his stories, and his willingness to help anyone in need.
Though he will be deeply missed, Alejandro’s legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
