He was a Sigma Phi Epsilon at O.U. then moved to Long Beach with his family and got his B.A. at USC. On July 11, 1953, he married L.A. native Mary Emma Wright at First Methodist Church. They raised two daughters in Long Beach and were in love for 53 years until her death in 2006. Al’s professional life was spent in Church Business Administration after a bit in advertising and life insurance. After retirement, Al and ME traveled widely, often in motorhome Goldie. He had a lifelong love of music especially Dixieland Jazz and Barbershop. He enjoyed gardening and building things for his kids and grandkids. His Andy Griffith lip-syncs were infamous. Survivors: Sister Carolyn Silkwood (Gordon), daughters Jennifer and Rebecca (Becki) Wright (Steve Sherman), grandchildren Barbara Platt (Forrest) and Alan Sherman (Andrea). Burial at Forest Lawn.
